# ice-kmod: Intel ice 1.9.11 for Storm kernel 5.4.206-202 For E810 parents (`8086:159b` E810-XXV, `8086:1593` E810-C) that run Intel's `ice-1.9.11-1` RPM. That RPM only carries the driver for `5.4.206-200`; on `-202` the host falls back to the in-tree ice 0.8.1-k, which has no driver for E810-XXV and is a large downgrade for E810-C. This directory is deliberately **not a yum repo**: nothing installs this package unless it is requested by URL. ## Prerequisites - `rpm -q ice` shows `ice-1.9.11-1` (provides the E810 DDP firmware) - `rpm -q kernel-core-5.4.206-202.el7` is installed ## Install (before rebooting into -202, or on a host already on -202) ``` yum install http://updates.interworx.com/_internal/ice-kmod/ice-kmod-5.4.206-202-1.9.11-1.el7.x86_64.rpm modinfo -k 5.4.206-202.el7.x86_64 -F version ice # expect 1.9.11 reboot ``` Reboot rather than reloading `ice` on a live host: unloading it drops the host's network. ## Verify after boot ``` uname -r # 5.4.206-202.el7.x86_64 cat /sys/module/ice/version # 1.9.11 cat /proc/net/bonding/bond0 # all slaves up ``` ## Rollback Boot `5.4.206-200` (its own Intel driver is untouched), or `yum remove ice-kmod-5.4.206-202`.
